February featured another fantastic learning opportunity for NWDA dancers at the Dupree Dance Convention in Seattle! Students of every experience level as well as instructors enjoyed a jam-packed weekend full of first-class instruction in a variety of styles including Ballet, Hip Hop, Jazz, Contemporary, Tap, and Musical Theater.
In addition to the classes, our dancers had the opportunity to showcase their hard work and perform during Saturday evening's competition, cheer and support their teammates, and celebrate the diverse talent and artistry that can be found in other studios throughout our region. It was an incredibly rewarding weekend with many of our routines earning first place high scores and several NWDA students being awarded scholarships, but best of all were the team-bonding opportunities for dancers and parents alike, the new friendships made, and the memories created.
Conventions can be fast-paced and hectic but we love that the Dupree Dance staff and instructors always go out of their way to be warm and friendly, putting the dancers at ease so that they can better focus on learning. It also helps to have a strong and supportive network of teachers, parents, and students to step in and help out when needed-- We love our dance family!
